We have been getting large numbers of players reporting Vegas World running/loading more slowly than it should recently.
Due to the pandemic, internet connection speeds aren't as reliable as normal, and it is fair to say Vegas World doesn't handle that as well as simpler games and sites.
We have checked and rechecked and Vegas World has been running as it should be the entire time. We cannot explain these reports and our developers are certain the problems aren't originating from Vegas World itself. There is no evidence suggesting a Vegas World update is responsible for the uptick in reports.
If you are a player who's starting having problems running Vegas World in the last week, we don't have solutions but we do have suggestions.
- Try a different browser. If Vegas World is running slow on Chrome, try it on Firefox or Edge. If you're using Firefox or Edge, try Chrome. Even if it doesn't help, you'll eliminate the browser from the list of possible problems.
- Restart your computer if you typically leave it running. This will close unwanted background apps which can cause VW to run more slowly. It will also complete Windows and/or browser updates that require a restart if players have one of those pending. (An update like that might explain why so many players are having problems all at once.)
- Make sure your computer has no required updates. If your Windows or browser requires an update, it's plausible that could cause problems running complex sites like Vegas World
- Contact your Internet Service Provider. If it's loading times that are the problem, the folks who will most likely know why would be your internet service. If there is a problem with your service, that would explain the sort of reports we've been seeing. There have been cases where entire regions are impacted by slow internet services as well as entire internet services (like Comcast, for example) having problems that would impact your VW experience.
